What's new?

February 2, 2010:

Olympic Lanes are now visible on Cambie and Broadway Street. Olympic Lanes are reserved for VANOC and Transit vehicles only. People stopping or driving on these restricted lanes are subject to fines. In other places, such as the Georgia Viaduct, there are already road closures to ensure security of the nearby venues.

February 2, 2010:

No U-Turn signs are added on No 3 Road. Some drivers do not realize that the road geometry has changed such that there is no turning radius to do a U-Turn. In the past, there is a bus lane in the middle, which allows u-turn turning geometry.

January 18 2010:

The olympic roads closure has begun, and digital signs has been installed around the city to get residents to use alternative modes of transportations, such as transit, walking and cycling.

The City of Vancouver also place temporary signs near Olympic Venues, whereby only registered residents can only park there.

January 18 2020 - 2:

The Main Street Showcase Transportation Project involves installing digital display signs to tell passengers approximately what time their next bus arrives. It uses Novex and INIT technology.

January 18 2010 - 3:

The expansion of the River Rock Casino is finally completed, and that it links the Canada Line's Bridgeport Station directly into the casino. The building itself now has Canada's first curved escalators.

January 18 2010 - 4:

Ad placement boards are now added on all Canada Line stations. Apparently, Translink is desperately for advertisement money...

January 2, 2010:

Pictures of the Canada Line pedestrian walkway have been added. The walkway is attached onto the side of the bridge, and is partially covered by the guideway where trains run above.

September 1, 2009:

Pictures of Canada Line stations, Sea to Sky Highway and Whistler Gondola has been added. Canada Line is a new rapid transit that was opened in late Summer 2009. Whistler Gondola is North America's longest cable strayed car system. The BC Government recently completed the new Sea to Sky Highway improvements, enhancing reliability, capacity and safety. Youtube videos of the new transit system, highway and Gondola ride are also added onto their respective pages.
